One of the most useful creatures to medicine and agriculture is the honeybee. honeybees are responsible for pollenating crops and plants, and producing honey, wax, pollen, propolis and royal jelly.

Some of the health properties of bee products read like a litany and are as follows:

Honey: Wound healing and antibacterial (both internally and externally)

 

Pollen:  Superfood (extends longevity, aids recovery from illness, reduces cravings,

suppresses appetite, prevents anemia, increases immunity to colds and

flus, normalizes cholesterol fractions, reduces allergies, displays anti-

cancer activity, lowers infertility, increases endurance)

 

Propolis: Anti-microbial (inhibits a wide range of bacterias and viruses)

Anti-neoplastic (inhibits hepatic and uterine carcinomas, cyto-

Toxic to breast cancer, melanoma, colon cancer, renal cancer

Cells)

Wound healing (due to its Arginine content) (burns and other wounds )

Anesthetic (mouth sores, sore throats)

Immune system modulator (Macrophage activation)

Cardiovascular tonic(reduces blood pressure ,strengthens capillaries)

 

Beeswax: used in candles, cosmetics (lip balm, hand cream, moisturizer, mustache wax),

as a food preservative (coating cheeses to prevent mold growth, as a glaze for

fresh fruit to increase its shelf life)

 

Bee Venom: used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, in cosmetics (as a blood flow

enhancer and collagen synthesizer), as an allergy desensitizer.

 

All in all, not bad for an insect. As far as the 2 min interventions go:

Use Honey: internally for sore throats, and externally on wounds to prevent infection,

Pollen: to attenuate allergies and increase immune function,

Propolis: to stimulate the immune system (5-10 drops in water or with honey for sore throats and infections), (1 drop mixed with honey on a bandaid for topical infections)

Beeswax: burn the candles instead of regular candles to help detoxify the air in your house and in natural cosmetics such as lip balm, hand moisturizer and mustache wax.
