Apple cider vinegar, like mustard, has been used for thousands of years in medicine. Chinese Medicine views apple cider vinegar as both sour and bitter, slightly warming and invigorating, detoxifying and anti-parasitic. In western medicine, it has been used since 430 BC, or from the time that Hippocrates was alive, for conditions such as insect and snake bites, sunburn, food poisoning, as a gargle for sore throats, as an anti-parasitic and as a digestive tonic. In Chinese Medicine, it is still used as a preparatory agent for herbs.

One of the reasons why we use salad dressings of oil and vinegar is so that it will kill off excess E.Coli on the raw veggies, making them safer to eat. As for the interventions:

For insect bites and stings, clean the bite, then apply 1-2 drops to the gauze pad on a band-aid and cover the bite until the itch or pain goes away.

To help neutralize food poisoning and stop the nausea, add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to 1/3 of a cup of warm water along with half a teaspoon of honey and sip slowly. Do this three times per day.

For bacterial vaginosis, add 3 cups to a hot bath and soak, spreading the legs to allow water into the vagina.

Finally, to help soothe a sore throat, add 1 tsp of the vinegar and ½ tsp of salt to 1/3 of a cup of warm water, and gargle several times per day.
